This will depend on the wording in the particular contract you entered into. Can not be answered honestly with out seeing the contract.

I work for a competitor...easiest way is to log complaints on service, quality, timeliness...build a log then cancel on just cause...when they try to inforce the contract the judge will be shown the records of poor service and deny their claim....OR...I doubt they have anything in thier contract about reducing the number of people in uniforms...you can then start reducing the numbers down until it is not profitable for them to service the account...how long have the current garments been in service...what remains on your contract...was it an automatic renewel...I have been in the linen business for almost 20 years and have learned all the tricks

If fees have been increased w/o having been written into the initial contract then they are already in violation of their own contract and thus it's null.

All linen contracts have increases written into them. In many different ways.

They tried to rope me into a contract when I opened my shop...I contacted a local clothing company that does embroidery and sells shirts , coats hats ect, ect, ect...They were looking for new customeers and waived the fee for designing my company logo if I bought over $300 with my first order, so I get nice button down collar shirts for when I'm in the office, T-shirts for when it's hot, sweatshirts when It's cold and hats all with my name and company embroidered on them for under $500. I go to Wally world and buy 5 pair of dress pants and 5 pairs of cheap black jeans and if I'm lucky have to replace a pair or two every other year, same with the shirts. Just call the clothing company and pay for the item and they give me a discount on the embroidery. maybe $300 a year in cost!!! I do the same for my employees(when I have them) Way better than a contract!!!

I have gone down that road. Fortunately for me both Unifirst and Aramark had lousy route guys. I was able to log enough phone calls and written complaints that they quit showing up entirely. That was over the course of several years and was about 5 years ago.

I was paying appx $165.00 per week for me and my employees at the time. We had shirts come up missing, buttons gone, huge tears in pants and shirts when they'd come back. Half the time they wouldn't service the door mats. They were always hand writing $$$ concessions on the invoices because of the mistakes.

Nowadays I do just fine with company t-shirts and shorts or jeans. You'd be amazed at the ways you can find to reduce your overhead in these tough times guys!

Good luck!

Always watch out for the automatic renewal written in to contracts. These days I won't hire a service company if they demand a contract. It really is very simple, deliver the product you offered on time and at the price agreed and we will be fine for a long time.

It has been my experience that all of the uniform companies operate the same. Cintas and G&K were the worst. I am using Unifirst now. My costs are $110 a week for 5 guys uniforms, floor rugs and 300 rags. I have to look at every invoice because it changes every week. The amount of clothing or rags never changes.

I'm pretty much the same as you, and I only pay around $20.00 a week (same company)!...

I used to use a local company (Superior Linen) until they were bought out by Uni-First!...
Service has sucked since and my clothes are NOWHERE near as clean as they used to be!...
